I can see … so I can infer

We did I can see … so I can infer with our own library books.

First we read our two pages of the book and described the image but this time we described the text.

Next we infering about the I can see … so I can infer and my book was about dangerous animals.

Lastly, after we we did I can see … so I can infer we read the whole book we also added some more but I didn’t add any.

I enjoyed this task because I got to use my own library book. I did well on the I can see … so I can infer. I need to improve on describing the text better.

Inference

We did inference about a book in reading.

First we infered a book called the kakangora that steals things from villagers and other people.

Next we read the book about the kakangora and found out what had happened in the book.

Lastly we used cards for a discussion and answering questions about the kakangora. The cards were leader, questioner, repeater, three answerer, and a disagreer.

I enjoyed this task because I like doing discussions with people. I did well on being the questioner. I need to improve on infering about it.

Synthesising

We learnt a new word called Synthesising in reading.

First we talked about the important bits of some information about penguins.

Next we went of made a DLO of a synthesising template. It had prior knowledge that means what I already know. New imformation that I never knew. And what my new understanding is.

Lastly we wrote down the things on the DLO and finished it.

I enjoyed this task because I have learnt what synthesising means. I did well on my prior knowledge about penguins. I need to imrpove on what kind of new information I have learnt.

Rahi and the Patupaiarehe

We learnt how to summarise texts.

First we summarised the main text in the book called Rahi and the Patupaiarehe.

Next we got some summarising cards and gave them to some of the people in my group. The cards were leader, questioner, 3 answerers, disagreer, repeater, these are the types of cards we use for our summarising ideas.

Lastly we made a google doc and pasted all the keywords on it.

I enjoyed this task because I like reading books. I did well on finding all the keywords in the story called Rahi and the Patupaiarehe. I need to improve on summarising the main text.

 

WW1

We learned about anzac and summerised them with keywords.

First we made a copy of the google doc.

Next we watched things about anzac and found out information about anzac.

Lastly we wrote the meanings of what the keywords are.

I enjoyed this task because I learned what the meanings of the keywords mean.I did well on putting the ideas in the right place.I need to improve on getting more information.

Bread

We read a book called bread.

First we choosed ten words from the keywords.

flour flat rise yeast mixture  added to bread dough  Rēwana bread

“kneaded”,

Next we mached the words that were similar to the same word.

Like delivered and packaged and bread and dough.

Last we made sentences with our keywords.

I enjoyed this task because I liked doing the sentences. I did well on this task because I matched the the words to the right one.

I need to improve on matching more words to the right ones.
