Learning numbers in maori

Today we learned how to pronounce numbers in maori
We didn’t go past the number 40.

First we were split up into five groups.whaea odie
took one group while the others did an individual task.

When our group was on the mat,whaea odie used playing
playing cards to put down a number.we had to tell her
what the number was in maori.

Next we add the cards together and say what the number is,
(for example she put a 10 and a 5 down.This was
added to make tekau ma rima.)

I did well on this task because i was the first one to
guess all the numbers.I need to improve on getting to a
bigger number.I enjoyed this task because I like Te reo maori.

WW1

We learned about anzac and summerised them with keywords.

First we made a copy of the google doc.

Next we watched things about anzac and found out information about anzac.

Lastly we wrote the meanings of what the keywords are.

I enjoyed this task because I learned what the meanings of the keywords mean.I did well on putting the ideas in the right place.I need to improve on getting more information.

Recount draft

This week we wrote a recount draft about me the zombie apocolypes.

We had to write three events the events were 1,2,3.

First we wrote our reveal about the zombie apocolypse.

Next we wrote our events one two and three.

Lastly we wrote our personal reflection.

I enjoyed this task because I like writing recounts. I did well on this task was writing good recounts. I need to improve on putting punctuation in the right place.

 

Imaginative recount

Today we did an imaginative recount.

First we talked about our brainstorm it is the, main character, supporting character,main plot,
and the supportive character.

Next we did the backwards S it is the reveal, event, and the ending.

Last we made our own ideas about the zombie apocolypse.

I enjoyed this task because I like brainstorming. what I did well on this task was I did well on brainstorming.

I need to improve on making more ideas

T-Ball skills

We revised our T-ball skills.

First we practised running from base to base by doing a relay race.

Next we revised our rules for T-ball and learning how to hold a bat. Your week hand goes on the bottom and
the strong hand goes on the top.

Then we learned how to stand in front of the tee. The feet needs to be facing the tea
and your arms needs to be strait.

After we played a real game of  T-ball.

Lastly we switched teams to play against each other.

I enjoyed this task because I like to play T-ball. I did well on hitting the ball.
I need to improve on catching the ball.

 

 

T-Ball Skills

Today we learned about diffrent T ball skills. The T ball skills we learned was running throwing and hitting.

First we practised throwing by playing ball rain.

Next we practised running between the bases by having a relay race.

Lastly we practised hitting the ball. we hit the ball on the tee.

I enjoyed this task because I like playing T ball. I did well on hitting the ball. I need to improve on throwing the ball.

Fractions

We learnt fractions.

First we learnt the difference between 2 groups and groups of 2.

Next we learnt what a fraction is and what it has. A fraction has a numerator and a denominator. A numerator tells how many equal parts of the whole or collection you have.  The denominator is how many equal parts the whole has been cut into.

Lastly we explained the differenece between 2 groups and groups of 2

I enjoyed this task because I learnt difference between 2 groups and groups of 2. I need to improve on explaining what a fraction is. I did well on explaining the difference between 2 groups and groups of 2.

 

 

 

Compound Sentences

We learnt compound sentences.

First we used our tenses and the state was continuous the tenses are
present, past, and future.

Next we wrote sentences with our states and our tenses. For example: The man is climbing the rope that
is a continuous present.

Lastly we finished our compound sentences.

I enjoyed this task because I like learning about compound sentences.

I did well on this task because I put the right tenses in the right box.

I need to improve on getting this work done fast.

Charateristics

We identify characteristics of a good team member.

First we discussed in class what characteristic is. A characteristic is typical of a particular person.

Next we got a paper and drew a body outline so we can write the good characteristics of a team member on the inside and the bad characteristics on the outside. We wrote words on the inside like: honesty, leadership, and encouragement and the bad characteristics such as: Lazy, Leaving people down, and disrespectful. 

Afterwards, we went outside and played a game called moon ball. We had to work together and figure out what kind of characteristics our group had.We also had to identify action and factors that can help a team from working cooperatively.

We enjoyed this task because we learnt that our group had different characteristics. We need to improve on working together because we didn’t communicate well. We did well on keeping the ball off the ground with our feet.
